What is RaceControl?

Product overview, roles and the path from race direction to the driver HUD.

RaceControl connects race direction on the web to drivers inside Assetto Corsa. Officials use a hosted console at racecontrol.cc. A connector on the organizer’s Linux ACSM server delivers the configured HUD through Custom Shaders Patch (CSP). Drivers see race information in the game without installing a separate RaceControl client.

What is included

  • Live race direction: a circuit map, flags and track states, text and voice communications, incidents, sporting decisions and operational history.
  • Driver HUD: flags, messages, radio, penalties, incident notices, rolling-start information and Track Limits when those systems are configured for the event.
  • Hosted organization workspace: license status, linked servers, selected ACSM events and SteamID audiences in /account and /settings.
  • Optional public board: an organization can publish incident status for its current active sessions without giving visitors console access.

Each organization has its own account, server links and race data. RaceControl administration issues licenses centrally; organizers manage their own workspace. See accounts and licenses.

How it reaches the driver

  1. The organizer installs the connector on a Linux ACSM host, links a server and selects the events that should use RaceControl.
  2. ACSM loads the configured event. A compatible Assetto Corsa/CSP client joins that server and receives the RaceControl HUD.
  3. Race direction issues an action from the live console. The HUD shows the relevant information to the eligible drivers.

The first event load may need to be scheduled outside a live race. Once a compatible session is running, supported race-direction data can update live; installing the connector does not restart Assetto Corsa for you.
