Driver HUD, flags and messages

Understand the signals and instructions shown inside Assetto Corsa.

The RaceControl HUD appears inside Assetto Corsa when you join a configured server with a compatible Custom Shaders Patch build and your Steam account is permitted by the organizer. You do not need a separate RaceControl account or manual client download.

What you may see

The HUD can display the current track instruction, race-direction text, incident and penalty notices, radio and Track Limits. A rolling-start procedure can also show formation and start guidance when the organizer enables it. Some elements are visible only while relevant. If you do not see the HUD, ask the organizer to check the event, server and audience settings before assuming a client fault.

Flags and track states

Signal Meaning in the HUD
GREEN Track clear or the end of a caution.
YELLOW / DOUBLE YELLOW Caution; a zone may cover only part of the circuit.
SAFETY CAR / FCY Neutralization procedure. Follow the displayed instruction and event rules.
RED Session stopped or red-flag procedure.
BLUE Instruction targeted at a particular car.
WHITE Informational signal, such as a slower car.
PIT CLOSED / FORMATION Pit or formation status, when active.

The console can apply a flag globally or to a defined circuit area. The HUD resolves competing signals so the most important current instruction is visible. The exact sporting meaning and required driver behavior come from your event rules; read the text shown with the signal.

Messages

Race direction can send a text message to the whole field or to one driver. A message may report an incident, a procedure or a direct instruction. It can appear alongside a flag or penalty, so read the complete message and its target rather than relying on color alone.

Messages have an importance level such as INFO, WARNING or CRITICAL. A notice about an incident is not automatically a penalty; a final decision appears separately. See incidents and penalties.

First use and personal layout

The HUD may show a welcome panel on first use. Press CTRL + SHIFT + W to show it again. Use CTRL + SHIFT + L to edit and save the layout of available HUD elements. Radio and layout guide explains those controls.
